Krista was a gymnast for 20 years and competed at Ithaca College in upstate New York where she earned a degree in Corporate Communications. She was also a gymnastics coach for many years and choreographed dance routines at her former job at Planet Gymnastics in Natick, MA. When she found Pilates, she instantly fell in love. She says, “Pilates brings me home, back to the gym where I grew up. Just like the gym, the studio is a place where I get to improve my flexibility, work on my coordination, develop toned muscles and take time out of my day for me.” Krista is eager to teach her students and watch them fall in love with the many benefits that Pilates offers just as she did. She holds a certification in the Classical Method through Peak Pilates International. She is also certified in V-Barre through Power Pilates, and loves teaching this energizing, upbeat class that incorporates dance, cardio, Pilates, and resistance training. Krista lives in Cumberland with her husband and two children.
Jeannette has been practicing yoga since 2010 when on whim, she decided to try a groupon for hot yoga! She's been hooked ever since and went on to pursue her yoga teacher training in 2015 from Back Bay Yoga. She now also holds certifications in Children's and Prenatal Yoga, Core Flow Yoga/Yoga Tone, Beginners Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and Group Fitness. Jeannette believes the physical practice of yoga is the key to our inner peace, and a happy balanced life both mentally and physically. She says, "Yoga strengthens our bodies and our minds. It teaches us confidence, gratitude and how to be comfortable when we are in uncomfortable places." Jeannette lives in North Attleboro, MA with her 2 biggest inspirations - her husband Manny and 4 year old daughter Emme.
Selena has been very active in dance, gymnastics, and running her entire life. She was a competitive gymnast and was on a collegiate cross country team. Choosing a career in health was a natural fit. Her career began in 1999, after graduating from Westfield State College with a degree in Exercise Physiology when she worked in public health educating middle school children on nutrition and physical activity. Empowering children to be healthy expanded her career path to become a certified group exercise instructor, personal trainer and health educator. Selena has been teaching group exercise for over 10 years, and enjoys teaching interval based classes combining cardio, strength and core. She loves to switch up her workouts, so be ready to learn something new every class! Selena enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors with her biggest supporters; husband Bob and twins Mason and Kendall.
For years Lisa had told her self that one day she would train to be a fitness instructor. After teaching preschool for 10 years, it was time to switch gears, but she couldn’t decide which direction wanted to go. Lisa says, "I love all types of fitness. Once I started taking Yoga regularly, I knew this was it! Yoga is so much more than physical activity. It really connects the mind & body in a way that makes you feel balanced & grounded." Lisa completed her 200 hour Yoga teacher training at Wild Wisdom Yoga. She is very excited to share all that she has learned with the students at The Pilates Point Studio.
Katie is a certified Power Pilates instructor, and has been teaching Pilates throughout Rhode Island since 2012. A former member of the Rhode Island Pilates teaching staff, Katie taught Pilates Mat, Pilates Apparatus, and Spin classes where she was known for her fun and dynamic workouts and uplifting playlists.
Katie works full time as a systems engineer, and continues to teach, practice, and build upon her education in the Joseph Pilates method because she believes that movement truly does heal.
Born and raised in Cumberland, RI where she resides with her husband and three boys, Lisa has always portrayed a healthy and active lifestyle. Her passion to inspire and empower people to live a healthy and positive lifestyle has always been her dream. Lisa started her career as an occupational therapist in 2009 working with preschoolers and the elderly population. After sustaining an injury while training for a half marathon she turned to yoga and barre as an alternative way to stay in shape. She quickly noticed the new energy it brought into her life and the positive change in her body and overall health. She recently completed her barre certification in September 2018. Lisa hopes to bring the strength and guidance she found through bare to all of her students. She is very excited to be part of The Pilates Point Studio team.
Tessa`s yoga journey started nearly ten years ago as a college student. What began as a search for better self care, blossomed into a passion and later the completion of a 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training with Jessie Dwiggins from Wild Wisdom Yoga. Drawn to the practice of non-judgement to self and others; the goal of her class is to create an environment where all students feel safe and supported in their practice. Whether it is your 1st or 100th time on the mat, Tessa believes that there is always something new to learn and explore and she is honored to share in this journey.
Valerie has had a love and curiosity for yoga since childhood. She began to practice yoga back in 2001 while attending Westfield State College. She earned her BS in Exercise Science in 2005 and continued on to study Muscular Therapy at The Muscular Therapy Institute in Watertown. From 2008 on she has been working as an LMT and has also earned certifications in Reiki l & ll, and Reflexology. In 2017 she found Buti Yoga and instantly fell in love. She got her Buti Yoga certification in August of 2018 and in June of 2019 will complete her 200YTT in Vinyasa. Valerie believes movement is medicine and is very excited to share Buti Yoga (Sanskrit meaning: a hidden cure within) at the Pilates Point Studio!
Yoga has been a part of Christina’s life for over 15 years. She instantly fell in love with the practice the moment she first stepped onto her mat. She loved the physical and mental benefits yoga had to offer and discovered some of her happiest moments were on her mat. Yoga has helped her grow stronger and more flexible, both on and off the mat. Yoga has taught her to live more mindfully and to appreciate all of life’s moments.
Christina earned her RYT200 in 2014. She was trained in the Baptiste method through Wayland Square Power Yoga.
She completed a weekend-long foundations training with Baron Baptiste. Since then she has been trained in SPA Yoga and has also become certified to teach yoga to military veterans and individuals with PTSD. In 2018 Christina trained with Tari Prinster and became a certified Yoga4Cancer instructor. Most recently she has begun her 500 hour training with Tiffany Cruikshank and the Yoga Medicine team.
She is excited to share her love of yoga with others. She loves to combine creative sequences, a playful spirit, and a dose of inspiration in her classes. There is nothing more rewarding for her than having her students leave with a smile on their faces.
Stacy has been in love with exercise and fitness since her early 20's. She began teaching indoor cycling and barre classes 2 years ago and obtained a certification in Barre in late 2018. Since then she has also taken workshops and participated in a Barre Intensity course earlier this year. "My love for barre increases in every class when I see participants enjoy it and start seeing improvements in their posture, muscle groups, and overall health both physically and mentally. I encourage everyone to try it at any age!"
Gretta is a New England native who has been teaching yoga since 2005. Gretta has extensive knowledge in various styles of yoga such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Prana Flow, Restorative, pre and post natal, and Chair. She has worked with students ages 8 to 85, and offers both private and group lessons. Gretta is Reiki certified and has taught various meditation workshops. Gretta believes in the power of yoga to transform, heal, and open one’s awareness to self.
Sarah has always maintained an active lifestyle. She started out teaching at an Outdoor Bootcamp and soon moved on to instructing Kickboxing and core specific classes. Her love of Barre didn't come until seven years ago after she was looking to get back into exercise after the birth of her first son.
"I had joined a boxing gym for high impact, but after watching a Barre class in action, I decided to join a class and I was immediately hooked!"
She says, "I am very high energy and have a passion for music and I try and bring that to every class I teach." In addition to Barre, Sarah is also certified to teach Cardio Kickboxing, Rowing, and Strength and Conditioning classes.
